Caregiver and Family Training

Caregiver and Family Training

We understand the complexity of demands that looking after a brain injury survivor can place on the entire family. This is often described in literature as “caregiver burden”. We attend to the needs of family members and trained carergivers by offering them support and guidance in their new role. Our intervention focuses on training caregivers in handling principles as well as carrying through exercises to ensure maximum outcome of our intervention. Our intervention can also focus on establishing the caregivers own needs and developing coping strategies. We believe that it is of utmost importance to attend to the various needs of caregivers to ensure the best possible care and rehabilitation potential for the brain injury survivor. A strong caregiver (emotionally and with solid handling skills) can provide strong care.
